At a meeting of the Wanganui East School Committee, held last evening, the headmaster reported a roll number of 270, and an average attendance for last quarter of 250. It was resolved by the oommitee to dismantle the swings in the school playground, owing to several accidents having occurred. Various minor alterations to the school and grounds were resolved on, and accounts amounting to sfiG 6s nassed for payment. It was also resolved to procure 100 swimming certificates for those who qualify over certain distances at the next school swimming sports.
