Burton, Minister for Foreign Affairs, speaking in the Union Assembly, said he hoped to deal comprehensively with native taxation next session. The Government had declined the recent proposals for the introduction of native labourers from new fields outside of the Unions, and hoped instead of extending the source of native labour to restrict existing ones.
