GREYMOUTH ITEMS.
(Per United Press Association). GREYMOUTH, March 31. The mining dispute at Blackball, which resolved, itself at last into a question of pillar-workers and truckers, has been amicably arranged, and a new agreement entered upon, but not yet signed. The terms were accepted by the Miners’ Union, ir conference with the manager and the Westport representatives of the Coalmine Owners’ Association late yesterday, anc wort was resumed as usual to-day. Mr Hugh Scott’s fine residence at Nelson Creek, which contained a valuable col lection of pictures, also some splendid furniture, was totally destroyed by fire at midnight. The insurance, in the Victoria was £350 but Scott estimates his loss at from £BOO to £IOO above that amount. The occupants barely escaped with then lives.
