The Floating Debt and Public Works Bill, which has been introduced in the Union Parliament, authorises the raising of loans not exceeding £19,100,000 to provide for the redemption of the floating debts of Natal, Cape Colony, and Orange River Colony, totalling .£9,700,000, and also that the surplus revenues at the date of the Union be devoted to debt redemption.
