RECIPROCITY DEFENDED. Press Association.—Telegraph.-Copyright. OTTAWA, March 28. The Hon. W. S. Feilding, Minister of Finance, defending reciprocity in a speech at Montreal, challenged the ojjponents to prove the assertion that he ever favoured annexation. The allegation was a fabrication. Hie annexation cry was a scandal and- a shame. He hoped that the Prince of Wales, when he visited Canada in the future, would be able to testify that, desnite closer trade with the United States, there was no more loyal Dominion than Canada. He added that the Laurier Government intended to guard the manufacturers fully. The latter were sure to benefit througll the increased prosperity of the agricultural classes.
