HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 27. The High Commissioner reports, under date London, March 26; Mutton.—The market is quiet, hut there has been more inclination to purchase during the past week on account of the low prices. Canterbury, 3-Jd (nominal); North Island, 3-Jd (small supply). Lamb.-—The market is becoming more depressed on account of stock accumulating. Canterbury, sd; other than Canterbury, 41d. Beef. —The market is firm. Supplies of American chilled are small. New Zealand hindquarters, 4d; forequarters, 3 l-Bcl. Butter.—The market remains firm for best quality, but weak and inactive for second class. Choicest New Zealand 106s, Danish 120s, Siberian 102e. Pork—The market is firmer at sd. Cheese.— I The market remains firm. New Zealand white and coloured, 60s. Hemp.—The market is ’ slightly weaker, with less demand. New Zealand good fair, per ton, on'spot, £2O; fair grade, £l9 10s; fair current Manila, £lO ss. Forward shipments are at the same price. The output from Manila for the week was 38,000 bales.
