PIRATE FOOTBALL CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Pirate Football Club was held at the Newmarket Hotel on Saturday, the 25th inst., and was very largely attended. Notwithstanding the fact that several old members, have left to join the professional ranks, their places in the team have been ably filled by several well-known firstclass players from other districts who have come to Wanganui since last season. The animal report and balance-sheet was read and adopted. It will no doubt be of interest to the many friends of the Pirates to learn that the club is in a good financial position. The election of officers was as follows: —Patron, Mr G. Spriggens; president, Mr C. E. Mackay; vice-presidents, Messrs T. Lawless, J. Gilby,.W. S. Dustin, C. A. Wainwright,. F. Lind, T. E. Nixon, N. Me. Forbes, R. N. Slyfield; club captain, T. Thompson; secretary and treasurer,M. . Courts; assistant secretary, C. Dustin; auditor, A. Coe; general committee, W. Dustin, R. Kench, J. Cotterill, P. Giblin, T. Thompson, R. McGregor, P. Atkins, W. Huxtable; delegates to Rugby Union, T. Thompson, C. J. Slyfield, and M. Courts; coaches: Senior, C. A. Wainwright; Junior, third and fourth class, T. Thompson. The meeting closed with the usual vote of thanks to the chair.
