CAPTURE OF HOUSEBREAKERS.

(Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, March 27. -Daring the past week, the police have received several complaints about houses at St. Clair and St. Hilda having been broken into, and valuables stolen there-’ from. This afternoon a detective and two constables saw two men loitering in High Street, Musselbnrg, and decided to watch them. The suspected men, however, saw one of the police officers, and speedily decamped. The police, who were on bicycles,.soon overtook them and searched them. On one of them were found articles reported as missing, and sufficient goods to form the’ subject of seven or eight charges. The. men’s names are Samuel Macdonald and Charles Macdonald, aged about 21 and 23 respectively. They state that they came from Wauaka, and that they have been working round the country, having come, to town the past two weeks. Onoi of them has admitted being the-culprit in several of the offences. Both men- will be charged with housebreaking.
