ROWING.
A.B.C. LICENSED VICTUALLERS’ PAIR-OAR COMPETITION. GODFREY’S CREW WINS THE TROPHY. The semi-finals in this competition were rowed on Friday night, and resulted in wins for E. Brider and A. Godfrey. The Iceers were S. Bone and P. Thomson. Godfrey and Brider thus met in the final on Saturday afternoon, Godfrey winning by two lengths. Godfrey jumped away with a lead, but was quickly overtaken by Brider, who obtained a threequarter length lead in the first quartermile, where Godfrey, quickening up, drew in front, and was never afterwards headed. MISS BULL’S PAIR-OAR TROPHIES. The following crews have been drawn to compete for these trophies: L. Cannon (stroke), J. O’Brien (bow). P. Thomson (stroke), R. Cooper (bow). F. McLean (stroke), W. Guildford (bow). A. Phillips (stroke), J. O’Keeffe (bow). S. Bone (stroke), E. Dewson (bow). A. Holmes (stroke), J. Kendrick (bow). A. Morshead (stroke), F. Dickson (bow). A. Godfrey )stroke), G. Parrant (bow). The first heat will be rowed to-night, when Morshead and Bone will meet. Thomson and Holmes clash on Tuesday Godfrey and Phillips Wednesday, and Cannon and McLean Thursday.
