Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright. SYDNEY, March 25. Arrived—Destroyers Yarra and Parramatta, from Melbourne. The destroyers were the centre of much interest. The steering gear worked well on the trip te Sydney. During the day the Mayoress of Parramatta presented on behalf of the women of the district the colours to the destroyer Parramatta. At night there was a big demonstration and pyrotechnic display, and a welcome was given to officers and men. Patriotic speeches were delivered. Received March 27, 9 a.ra. MELBOURNE, March 27, The Federal Government is'appointing a board of experts to inquire into destroyer defects. ADELAIDE. March 27. Speaking at a Mayoral banquet, Admiral Kinghall characterised Admiral Senderson’s report as a well-thought-out plan. He was perfectly certain it could be brought to a satisfactory conclusion if adopted. He believed the finances of the Gommonwealth would be able to stand the stress of creating the navy.
