PASTRY MAKING.
People have yet to realise the incalculabe injury cftused to health in countless cases -by the constant consumption of cakes, pastry, scones, and so forth made with inferior baking-powder and kindred preparations. There is. a graver and generally unsuspected danger in these' preparations. When any baking-powder contains the impure or dangerous drugs often used it has a specific evil action upon tlie whole digestive system. This action, being cumulative ,in character, has a serious injurious effect, gradually impairing efficiency and producing, disease. Sharland’s linking Powder —Moa Brand —is not only highly desirable and effective from the culinary standpoint: it is also positively wholesome. It contains no taint of any injurious drug. If gives crispness and lightness, appetising quality, without impairing in the slightest degree the nourishing quality of the food. It is as pure as the flour itself, and in some casts doubtless purer. ■ 'Send" poet-card do 1 ■Shatland ' and Co.,' Ltd., Wellington, for free sample tin. Retail of sail stores.
