Elisa Baumgartner was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment at Geneva on a charge of robbing hotel visitors. She was a member of an international gang whose depredations totalled £120,000, this amount being the proceeds of nearly a hundred robberies in Switzerland, Austria, and the Riviera. Hornsohuh, the head of the gang, and Elisa’s lover, climbed waterspouts and lowered the booty to her. He was tried at Bozen and sentenced to 7£ years’ imprisonment.
