Press Association.—Telegraph.-Copyright. Received March 25; 8 a.in. LONDON, March 24. The Women’s Social and Political Union, at a crowded meeting in Albert Hall, subscribed £6OOO to the funds Vida Goldstein, the Australian, expressed sympathy with the militant, policy.
ACCUSATIONS AGAINST THE POLICE. . Inquiry Demanded. Received March 25j 8 a.m. LONDON,’March 24. Lord Robert Cecil and Mr Griffiths, M.P., and Mr J. T. Ellis, in a letter to/the Times, state that they have examined one hundred statements of witnesses, and found a clear case for searching inquiry into the conduct of the police towards the sufragettes on November 18. Several suffragists were kicked, their bodies and’ limbs showing signs afterwards, while others were struck on the face and beaten generally. The women suffered every species of violence, including indignities of a very gross kind.
