A.B.C. LICENSED VICTUALLER’S PAIR-OAR TROPHIES. The competition for these trophies was advanced yet another stage last evening, when P. Thomson defeated F. Scott by two lengths, after a willing contest. This evening two more heats will be decided. A. Godfrey will meet P. Thomson at 5.30, while E. Brider and S. Bono will try conclusions at 6 o’clock. The GodfreyThomson event is expected to provide the. race of the competition, opinions oeing evenly divided as to the probable winner. A close finish is confidently expected to result from the other pair’s race. The winners of this evening’s heats will meet in the final to-morrow afternoon, probably about 2 o’clock.
