THE MAWSON EXPEDITION. Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright. SYDNEY, March 23. A deputation, including th© Lord Mayor and University Professors, asked the Hon. Batchelor for a Federal Government grant of .£20,000 towards Dr. Mawson’s Australian Antarctic expedition. Mr Batchelor said the Government was sympathetic, but he did not expect such a large demand. He thought it would be £IO,OOO. He promised to consult Cabinet.
