A SWIMMER'S DEATH.

ATTRIBUTED TO CIGARETTES. The Coroner in Sydney held an inquiry last week into the cause of death of Spencer Sydney Lloyd, 24 years, who was drowned near Coogos. Evidence showed that deceased fell out of the boat. He was a- strong swimmer, but was addicted at times to excessive drinkiug, and was also a heavy cigarette smoker. His nerves were unstrung, a condition which Lloyd himself attributed to cigarettes. The Coroner remarked that Lloyd’s hard smoking had probably affected his heart, and thus caused his death by drowning so quickly. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
