SHOCKING TRAGEDY AT COLYTON

(Per United Press Association.) FEILDING, March 22. A shocking tragedy occurred at Colyton last night, and resulted in the; death of Stephen Melvin, an old settler, Melvin, who had had an engineering training, was experimenting with an acetylene ! gas plant made by himself with a milk can and an oil drum, when an explosion took place. Terrible! in juries were inflicted to Mclvin’a head, and he died in half an hour.
