SEDITION IN INDIA.
BILL PASSED BY COUNCIL. Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright CALCUTTA, March 21. The Seditious Meetings Bill has been passed by the Indian Council. Indian members deprecated it as permanent legislation, hut thanked the Government for removing the most objectionable features of the old Bill.;, Lord Hardinge said the Act would only be extended to a district when necessary, and he hoped it would remain a dead letter.
