j (Per United Press Association.) i , NAPIER, .March 20. ' | At the Magistrate’s Court tins morning I, a young man named J. Young Hannay, I charged -with having fired a shotgun at 1 three others—Robert" Colquhoun, , John | Miller, and Fred Johson-—was committed j for trial, bail being allowed. Evidence showed that a quarrel took place in one of the main streets on the evening of the 13th inst., and that the three prosecutors afterwards followed, the accused to his home, for the purpose, they stated, of demanding an apology. Accused "went into the house, brought out a shot-gun, and discharged both barrels at the other three, who then beat a retreat, thinking Hannay had brought some friends to his assistance. Colquhoun was struck by two pellets, hut was only slightly injured. Bannay says he merely fired to scare the others, and when he thought they wore at. a safe, distance..
