Of the competitors Trembath showed a wonderful turn. of . speed in the 440 Aards Handicap. The Half-mile Flat; was won by McLachlan, which clearly demonstrated that ho is one of the finest‘riihnors this Djominion has yet produced. Ho timed his rim to'a nicety, and landed a-winner by about four yards. Of the cyclists Donald showed'up. well, especially in the last race, •but his run was made too late, ■and he had to be. content with;third .place.-Whet-ton has the. stylo of ,a good rider, and though young may yet find,,himself, on the scratch mark.
