One stated; that. it cost less than Is per 1000 ft to produce, and a- monopoly charged 3s 9d. The Hon. McGowen said he was entirely in sympathy with the deputation, but lie did not believe .dn half-way He would look into the matter and see if. there was justification for taking a halfway action. He suggested that if the Government remained in power it would ■ face the matter so that everybody would be satisfied.'. He also suggested that the Government would deal with tire limitation of prices of food.
