WANGANUI GUARDS. Th« members of the above company will fire the first of a series of five competitions, with the best three to count, for a valuable trophy kindly donated by Hobson and Sons, London. It is hoped, members will take great interest in these competitions, as all the results will be sent Home to London to the above-mentioned firm. Cash prizes for A and B classes will also be fired- for. Ranges 200 and GOO yards. The following are the handicaps:— Lieut. Cade, Sergt. Huwyler, and Pte. II Allen, ech.; Ptes. C. and E. Johnson and Harper 0 points; Corpl. Cox and Pte. H. Turner, 4; Ptes. F. Johnson, Watts, Salt and Begley, 5; Capt. Harper, Col.-Sergt. Carmody, Sergt. W. Webb and Pte. R Kench, 6; Sergts. Cole and A. Webb, and Pte. Belcher, 7; Corpl. Langridge, Ptes. Allen and Sparks, and Bugler Pettigrew, 8; Ptes. Gl and L. Dust. 9: Ptes. Fowl*'and Wadey, 12; remainder, 16 points.

RIFLE SHOOTING. For the information of all corps, the following ranges, fixtures, etc., will be observed on Saturday next;— Ranges: 260 and 600 yards. Number of shots; Seniors 7, and optional count . sighter at each range; juniors, 10 at 200 yards only. Range officer: Captain McNaught. Trench officer: Lieutenant Cameron. Markers: Messrs Laird, McCulloch, Dunkley, Armstrong, Keane, and Hoffman. Targets; Wanganui Rifles, Nos. 4 and 5; Wanganu; Guards, Nos. 6 and 7; Highlanders, Nos. 8 and 9; Irish Rifles, No. 10. Hour of shooting: 1.45 p.m. sharp. The markers are requested to note that targets must be swung on target posts from 4 to 10, not later than 1.40 p.m. Each marker will swing a target and previous to commencing firing the trench officer will see that the markers draw for targets.
