Mr Uoiiert Dray, one of tho oldest settlers in the district, passed away yesterday at tho age of 82. He w.is a familiar figure in town and will no greatly missed hy a host of friend*. His chaji(ies were numerous and unobtrusive, and t hose who have experienced hie kindly help will he deeply grieved to hear that their good friend aud benefactor has at last paused away. The Hoe, A. C. I,awry, who ha* aervtd his appointed term of five years as minuter of the Napier Trinity Wesleyan Church, has received a unanimous invitation to sue ei-ed the Rev. G. Bond in the Uiinistry of Bt. John's Church, I’onsonhy, Auckland, and has accepted the invitation ‘provided the transfer is sanctioned by the church eoul'cicnoe which meets next March.
