SCULLING.

PARRAMATTA HANDICAP. ARNST IN A WARM HEAT. Press Association—Telegraph.—Copyright. SYDNEY, April 27. In the dpaw for the Parramatta Hundred, Arnst is placed in the third heat with S. Pearce (20sec), S. Kemp (36), J. Laycock, and George Matterson (46), W. Fisher (51), P. Kemp, jun. (60), T. Kemp (72), J. Backhouse (100). The champion struck a pretty warm bunch. BY “VICTOR.” There* should be some fine racing in the above handicap, which is to be rowed on Saturday next. The champion has been set a severe task in his heat, but if he is really at his best he .will put up a big race. Syd Kemp on 36 seconds appears to bo well treated. He had 16 seconds start from Arnst hero over a two mile course, and made things very lively for the champion for a mile and a half, but Arnst then had him, and won fairly easily. Kemp has 20 seconds more start now, but there is half a mile further to go, and this will be all in the New Zealander’s favour—if he is in his best form. Of. course, a good deal will depend on the conditions, as if the tide is with the competitors some the long start men should take a lot of beating, as it would mean that the champion would have so much less time in which to make up the handicap he has to concede. Providing, Arnst can win his heat, it will be a great performance, and will lend added interest to the final heat.
