Mr Wade, replying to a deputation representing the principal industries, of the State requesting a duplication of the main trunk line and the construction of crosscountry lines, said the Government proposed to carry out without delay , all the more urgent duplications on the three trunk lines. Stops were also being taken to improve the railway facilities across the country. It would be necessary to raise a special loan for the purpose. It would be dissociated from the ordinary loan policy.
