In the case of Donaldson, charged nidi the murder of his father near luverlar in December, the accused’s counsel pleaded justifiable homicide. The judge directed the jury to return a formal verdict of not guilty, and discharged Donaldson without a stain on ins character. On December 20th last, it was cabled that Donaldson, a settler near Inverlar, N.S.W., who had got into debt through wagering with his sons on a boxing contest, attempted to shoot his daughter and his wife, who lived with his sous on a farm. His son got a gun and exchanged shots with his father. The latter ran away, and was found dead, having been shot twice in the head.
