During the gale, a ketch broke loose and collided with and damaged the yacht Sayonara. ■Considerable damage was, done to property ashore. The roof of a bouse collapsed and eight inmates had a miraculous escape. At the infectious diseases hospital, many patients were in tents, which were torn to pieces, and the patients . were almost smothered with debris and were drenched with rain. \ I
