Owing to the rain and heavy course very little work was done yesterday, but this morning the weather was more favourable, and trainers made up lost time. Kopu and Pblyanthus finished seven furlongs together. Ballvheigh was a trifle too good for Reservoir at the • end of three-quarters of a mile. Penates and Separator galloped well over six furlongs, Amato comfortably beat Andrew Mack over six furlongs. Wimmora and Husbandman each ran a mile, and Directbiro and Lady Reina a fast four furlongs. Entente and Floater finished abreast at the end of four furlongs. Waikehu and H'upere achieved the same feat. St. Felix and Gipsy Belle spurted three furlongs. Boynewater and Progress ran four furlongs. Jackpot jumped well once rn und over the fences. Formby and Idealism ran a fast six furlongs. The following were out alone—Gloss over three furlongs. Boanerges and Captain Jmgle over six furlongs, and Waikaraka useful work.
