SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.

FOXTON COMMITTEE. FOXTON, April 26. The following School Committee has been elected:—Messrs Hornblow (chairman), Betty (secretary). Aitken, Bullard, J. Coley, Hussey, Levett, A. Spiers, and Henderson. The meeting passed a resolution protesting against the action of the Government in reducing the maintenance grants to Boards and the capitation grants. AT LEVIN. Bible-in*Scliools Party Defeated. LEVIN, April 26. The School Committee election was fought on a straight-out issue as to the Bible-in-schools. Each side nominated a “full ticket.” Great interest was taken, and a big poll was recorded. The party favouring the maintenance of the secular system secured the return of all nine committeemen, and had its terth man at the top of the rejected candidates.
