TURKEY’S TROUBLES.

INSURGENTS IN ALBANIA. Fresh Fighting. Press Association.— I Telegraph.—Copyright. CONSTANTINOPLE, April 25. Fresh fighting has occurred in the Ferisovitch district of Albania, and the telegraph wires have been cut. Albania, a part of the Turkish Empire, extends along the Adriatic coast between Montenegro in the north and Greece in the south, and lies opposite the Italian coast. It includes the vilayets of Scutari, Yanina, and Kessovo. There are about 1.500.000 Albanians, divided into the Ghegs, who live in the north of Albania, and the Tosks, who dwell in the'south. They are Mohammedans for the most part. . For some time there has been trouble in caused by those who favour the old regime. A few days ago it was stated that the Prishtina district was occupied, by 17,000 Turkish troops, whose purpose, it was stated, was to courtmartial the ringleaders of the revolt, and afterwards to register the population for revenue and conscription purposes. Shevket Pasha (leader of the Constitutional troops who overthrew the ex-Sultan’s reactionary forces last year) commands the Turkish troops in Albania. A cablegram received on the 19th inst. stated that Shevket Pasha has determined to disarm 40.000 Albanians who were hastily preparing to blockade Kisban Pass, to destroy the railway, and to hem in the’ Turkish troops. As the mountains were swarming with insurgents, he asked for reinforcements, and 16 additional battalions were sent.
