A party of young people from tlie Putiki pah, who were joined by another party from town, journeyed to the Jubilee Home on Thursday night by motor launch, and spent a most enjoyable evening. On'arrival there the visitors were surprised and ■’.cased at the splendid reception accorded them, as the inmates had the sitting-room beautifully decorated with flowers. A nice programme, consisting of poi dances, hakas, choruses in Maori, by the Putiki "eople, was greatly enjoyed. Miss Violet Jones presided at the piano, and soa»s were contributed by Misses Barkman Tones, and Tubana. and Mr Forsyth.’ F-.-cry item was given in such good style /hat +he encores given were certainly deserved. Other items on the programme—which was manifestly heartily enjoved bv ■/II— were recitations given by Miss TV. iGarcrell. Florrie Jones, and Mr Kernohan, and a violin solo by Miss Ritchie.
