The Canterbury Rugby Union’s competi-
tions commence to-day. There are eight teams in the senior competition, ten m the juniors, sixteen in the President’s cup, nine in the fourth grade, and ten in the fifth grade. It is estimated that, with emergencies, 900 to 1000 players will be engaged in competition games this easou.
