INSURANCE COMPANIES AMALGAMATE.
Press Association- Telegraph.—Copyright, Received April 23, 9.55 a.m. SYDNEY, April 23. The amalgamation of the Australian Widows’ Fund Life Assurance Society with the Mutual Life and Citizens’ Company has been arranged.
A recent Wellington telegram stated that an arrangement is proposed for the union of the businesses of the Mutual Life and Citizens’ Assurance Company and the Australian Widows’ Fund Life Assurance ; Society, and the policy-holders of the latter institute are at present being communicated with asking if they approve of hi scheme. It is stated in the circular being issued that the proposed arrangement will result in the Company being established which will be stronger than' either, institute taken separately, and it will be able to offer the policy-holders' of both institutions greater benefits than would otherwise be possible and that it is in order to secure for. the Society’s, members such largely increased benefits jn the future that the directors strongly recommend the proposed arrangement.
