SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.

Thkotohout New Zealand -on Monday evening next the annual School Committee elections will bo hold, and matters of greater or less importance will be discussed in tho various centres. In the Wanganui district the meetings will be held in the respective schools, except in town (where the Borough Council Chambers will be utilised) and at Castlecliff (where tho meeting will be conducted in the Public Hall). It is to bo hoped that parents throughout the Dominion will take a live interest in the concerns of the schools at which their 1 children attend, and that none of the elections will bo allowed to go by default. So far as the W anganui School Committee meeting is concerned a matter of great importance is to.be considered, viz., tho question of the re-erection of the Infant School. The committee will no doubt bo pleased to get the-voice of the meeting on the question, which should be thoroughly discussed in all its bearings. It matters hot whatpast committees have proposed or done; there is no need for resuscitating ancient history: the point to consider is whether ,or not the Committee’s idea of blocking an infant department at the District High School and at the Queen’s Park School should bo endorsed, and its views with respect to the erection of a central school in Ingostre Street given effect to. That is the crux of the whole business.
