ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

The annual general meeting :of the "Wanganui Football Association was )b eld in Christ Church Schdoffioom, there'being a good attendance. Alt’Findlay was elected to the chair. After the minutes of the last general meeting 1 had been read and confirmed, the following officers were appointed for the coming season:— Patron, Mr C. E. Mackay; president, Rev. J. A. :Jacob;- vice-presidents, Messrs J., T. Muir, Rev. Father Molloy (Marton),," Win.; Lambc, A. Hatrick, G. Spriggens, G) M. Gardiner, C. Carson, A. G. Bignell, J. A. Findlay, E. Walpole, J. A. Young, W. Davidge, J. Denis Barnett, T. H. Nixon, ,J- -G. Swan, N; ■ McKenzie ; Forbes, W. •Corby; lion, secretary, Mr C! Aitken; executive committee, Messrs , Downey, Milne, Waller, Wylie, ; Morrison, and iAdams.

The meeting was then adjourned until the 31st ult., when the annual report :was read and confirmed. :

It was stated that the past season was si very ■ successful one, matches- being played here by teams - from WelUngtori (two). Auckland,, and Taihape; aud the,- local reps, journeyed to Taihape and Marton, Paying at each place. On the whole, ifito local' team was fairly successful/ League 'competition ; matches’'were played, and after two rounds Wanganui Clui proved victorious. During the season a cup was obtained and competed for, eventually being won by the Castlecliff Club, after some real good struggles.
