(Per United Press Association.)
NELSON, March 30. At the inqnest 'on the body of the young man named Wm. Knight Porter, who was fonnd on the road at Pokororo early on Tuesday morning and nlaced in a shed, where he subsequently died, medical evidence showed that death resulted from a fractured skull, evidently the result of a fall from a horse. It appeared the deceased had been attending sports at Motueka, and had been drinking with other youths. The Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence, and directed the police to make exhaustive inquiry into drinking among ’ youths, which had evidently taken place at the snorts and in the town. He was satisfied that the men who fonnd Porter on the road had no reason to believe he was injured.
