FIRE AT GISBORNE.
(Per United Press Association.) GISBORNE, March 30. A destructive fire broke out in Gladstone Road at 8.15 p.m. It started at the back of a drapery, store of P. Hallara’s, and went to an empty double-storey building one one side and to a small laundry business, on the other side. A-high wind, was . Wowing, but rain and the > intervening brick, wall saved the fire from catching a, large two-storey wooden shop and the pre-! niises of Fred ITu] i. , The. drapery store and the laundry business were completely! burnt out, only the walls being*'left! standing.
