SELECTING TRAINING GROUNDS. (Per’United PrliSs ’Association,) CHEISTCHUECH, Ma!roh 29. a./ The Prime Minister, who arrived hero, this morning, states that Mr W. C. Korn sington (Under-Secretary of Lands), Mr J-. Straiichbn -(Chief Surveyor, Wellington), • and Colonel :H. D. Tuson (member of the Defencq Council), have been appointed a go through both islands and make a selection of training grounds (one for each island) required for tlietrani- , ing. of; the ; Territorials. , The training grounds are required independently of the recommendations made by Lord Kitchener ,in connection with the area system. They will, .require;to be sufficiently large to enable complete training to be carried out in all branches of the service, including ..gtonery. The Commission, of which Mr Kensington has been appointed' chairman; will commence its work at an early date. ’
