IV’OTICJD ifj hereby given that at a special meeting of the Wanganui Hast Borough Council, hold on the 24th day of January, 1910, the following resolution's hy way of special orders were passed: (1) Whereas the sum of <£18(10, being portion of .a special loan borrowed by the Mataongaouga. Road Board, because by virtue of the provisions of the Deed of Adjustment between the corporations of the Mataongaouga Road District and the Wanganui .hast Borough, due and payable by the Corporation of the Wanganui East, BprenVgh ort ,jthc- day pf Jlinuary, the* sum" <d’ <£l : Bf’KV is ; required to pay off the said sum. Now therefore the Wanganui East Borough Council doth hereby in exercise of the powers vested in it in this behalf hy “The New Zealand .Slate Guaranteed Advances Act, 1999,” “The Local Bodies Loans Aet, 1908,’' and “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” resolve by way of special order ; —• Firstly':'—For the purpose, of paying off the said sum of <£lßoo to borrow and raise a special loan of .£IB9O, repayable.on the first day of January, 19:11. Secondly:—To establish a sinking fund during the currency of the loan of one pound (£1) per centum per annum on the amount for the time being of the said loan actually borrowed for or towards payment of such loan at its maturity. Thirdly:—To appropriate and pledge by way of security to provide for the payment of interest on such special loan and the payment of such sinking fund and other charges an annually recurring special rate of two pence in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of ’Wanganui East. Fourthly:—That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the said loan of .£IBOO authorised to be raised by the Wanganui East Borough Council under “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908,” or “The Now Zealand Stateguaranteed Advances Aet, 1909,” and “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” for paying off the.said sum of £IBOO, portion of the aforesaid special loan borrowed by the Mataongaouga Road Board for the construction and improvement of the Shakespeare Cliff Road which loan became, due and payable on the first day of January, 1910, the Wanganui East Borough • Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two pence in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Wanganui East Borough, comprising the whole of the said Borough, and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be. payable hallyearly on the first day of the months of January and July in each and every year during the currency of such loan being a period of 21 years, or until the loan is paid off. (2) That as the works for which the. loan of £4OOO raised for the purpose of purchasing a Recreation Ground and other purposes, have now been completed, and as there still remains an unexpended surplus of £278 10s 9d, now therefore the ’Wanganui East Borough Council doth hereby in exercise of the powers vested in it in this behalf by Section 105 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," resolve by way of special order that the said -surplus shall be expended for the special purposes following: (1) Constructing a ‘ footpath for Shakespeare Esplanade to Nixon’s upper gate on Matarawa Road, £IOB 10s 9d. (2) Constructing a footpath from the Railway Bridge to Wilkie Street, via Mamakn Street, £7O. (3) The purchase of Lot 6, Block V., Section 77, Ikitara S.D., to connect Mackay. Street with Poutini Street, £IOO. The above resolutions will be submitted •for confirmation at an ordinary meeting of the Wanganui East Borough Council, to ho held oti the 21st day pf 1910, at 7.30 o’clock p.m., at the Council Chambers., Wanganui East. ■ Dated this 26th day of January. 1910.
