NORTHERN TERRITORY BILL.

PRACTICALLY STRANGLED.

The stumbling block was the construction of" the rail v» ay. Mr Deakin, Premier, promised to use his influence to see that the Bill is not wholly lost, even for this session. He hoped it would not be long before the territory* was taken over by the Commonwealth.
