Pierpont Morgan has secured the control of the Equitable Life Assurance Society of New York. Tlie assets amount to 94 millions sterling. This is interpreted in Wall Street a:, foreshadowing the gigantic merging of banking interests. Pierpont Morgan recently purchased the Guaranty Trust, with a capital and resources of 2O millions sterling-. American newspapers estimate the resources he now controls at 350 millions sterling.
