EGMONT-WANGANUI HUNT CLUB

The members of this club had a most enjoyable run at Bapanui on Saturday, starting from the creamery, through Cooper and Jackson's properties, across to Basson's and Handley's, on to Cullin-r ane's, and finishing up at the Southern Grove Homestead. There was a splendid assortment of jumps encountered during the run, which could be seen, all the way by those following the road. Three hares'were encountered on the way back, and another good run terminated at Mr Mcßeth's homestead, where a halt was made for afternoon tea, the members being most hospitably entertained by Mr William Mcßetb. In a neat speech, Mr Jack Blair, the deputymaster, -heartily thanked Mr, Mrs and the Misses Mcßeth for their kindness, also voicing a word of thanks to the farmers who had placed their properties at the disposal of the club. After three hearty cheers had been given for the host and hostesses,' Mr Mcßeth expressed the hope that the club would make this run an v annual event. As the neighbouring country is an ideal one for hunting and affords good going even in the wet season, this invitation is sure to nieel with a grateful acceptance. Patterson on Maeremai, Mr C. Gordon on Coral, Mr A. Gordon on Wairakia, Mr P. Quilanan on Socket, Mr Connell on Chasse, Mr L. Oliver on Waterworks, Mr P. Turner on Tally Ho, Mr L. Turner on Tokomaru, Mr Cathro on Jackson, Mr C. Brownlie on Christmas, Mr C. Campion on Little Tom.

Among the onlookers on wheels were Mr and 3Vtr» Mcßeth, Mrs Blair, Mies Cntfield,, Misses Hearn, Misses McKelvie, Mr $. Morton, Miss Bull, Mrs Campbell, Mr D. Cnllinane. Biding were Misses Campbell, Pairman, Bull, Hodges, Gordon, McLean, Messrs J: Moore, W. K. McLean, W. Cutfield, J. Hay, Beid, Parkes and a host of others.

The next local meet will take place at Bushy Park, the homestead of Mr Frank Moore. An enjoyable time is assured. The annual Hunt Club meeting is fixed for August 26th. '
