LADIES' COMPETITION.
Sherwood A. met C.C.C. Ladies on the Pacecoi.»se yesterday. C.C.C. could only muster eight girls. It is a pity members do not support this team better, ac it is very discouraging to those who do turn out to find they have not a full team. Miss Jones beat Miss Powell at the bully, took the ball down the field, and scored the first goal for Sherwood within two minutes. Miss Beauehamp scored next with a good shot from a difficult angle. The third goal was scored by Miss Turner from a penalty corner. From a good piece of forward play Mi.se Alloracs added another goal, the spell ending: Sherwood 4, C.C.C. nil. In the second spell C.C.C. rallied and played a better game, and had their opponents on the defence at times. Half way through the spell Miss Jones again found the posts. C.C.C. were considerably handicapped by playing without any halves. Miss Powell played a good game, her hitting being splendid, though she should show a little more judgment in placing the ball. Miss Swan, m goal, saved her side several times, and stopped some very good shots. Mr G. Fear j)..»de a very competent referee..
