Christchurch and Selwyn.

CHRISTCHURCH, June 11. The Christchurch Licensing Committee granted 11 transfers and 44 renewals. Two renewals were held over. 11 wholesale licenses weer granted. The Selwyn Committee granted two temporary transfers and 12 renewals. An application made for a license for an hotel at Mount Somers was . refused, Mount Somers being a portion of the Ashburton electorate during No-license there, but in the last re-adjustment was included in Selwyn. The Committee felt it had no power to increase the number of licenses in Selwyn.
