A Large Passenger List.
(Per TT*»i*«<3' Press Ajjsoeiafcfo-n > WELLINGTON, April 22. v The Glasgow wharf presented an animated sight to-day on the departure of the Coripthic for London. There are 284 passengers on board, of whom 64 are in the first class, 79 in the second, and 141 in the third class. Included in the latter were some returning immigrants, who, having tried New Zealand, are giving up the question of opportunities. A large number of well-known New Zealahders are on board, and there was a crowd, of friends on the wharf to bid them atticu.
Included in the farewelling party ashore was the Prime Minister and Lady Ward, also Bishop Lenihan, of Auckland: They were down to see Mr and Mrs T. H. Hamer off. Mr Smart, superintending engineer of the Union S.S. Coy., of Dunedih. and Mm Smart were also- passengers, and there were many of Mr Smart's personal ' friends down to see the Vessel swing but.' Among them were- Mr J. P. Luke, MM 1 ., and Mrs Luke. Mr and Mrs G. W. Difler, of Carterton, are also among the passengers. Miss Nina Caldow, a promising Wellington contralto, who is going Home to study was a passenger by the Corinthic. So were Mr Hamilton" Hodges (the Auckland baritone) and Miss Rita Rabone, who is bound for London to study singing at the Royal College of Music. Mr and Mrs Allan and party, who are bound for Bolivia to work,, in the mission field there, were also passengers by the Corinthic.
