MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

(Par United Press Association.) NELSON, April 22. Mr Jesse Piper, the sitting Mayor, and Councillor W. S. Hampson will contest the Nelson Mayoral seat. For Richmond, Mr Sheat was re-elected Mayor unopposed. For Motueka Mr F. W Thorpe was elected Mayor unopposed. MASTERTON, April 22. Mr P. L. Hollings, the present Uayor, and Mr J. Hunter, a member of the BoroughjCouncil, have been nominated for the Mayoralty. Theer are 11 candidates for nine seats on the Council.

WAIPAWA, April 22. Mr W. I. Limbrick has been returned unopposed as Mayor. There are 13 nominations for eight seats on the Council.

FEILDING, April 22

For the position of Mayor Mr S. W. Fitzherbert and W. J. B. Trewin (the present Mayor) were nominated. For the nine vacancies on the Council 13 nominations have been received. EKETAHUNA, April 22. £. Page was elected Mayor unopposed. BLENHEIM, April 22.

Messrs Archibald McCallum (the present Mayor) and John Conolly are candidates for the Blenheim Mayoralty. For the nine seats on the Council there are 17 candidates.

HASTINGS, April 22.

For the Mayoral chair, Messrs W. Y. Dennett, J. A. Miller, L. W. Fowler, and A. A. George have been nominated. 20 have been nominated for the Council of 9 members.

CHRISTCHURCH, April 22.

For the City Council of Greater Christchurch, 26 nominations for 14 seats were received.

A new feature in the contest is the strong Labour element, o*f which representatives, arc contesting every ward. For the central ward there are ten candidates for six seats, for the Sydneham ward eight for four seats.

The Labour candidates are fighting a most energetic campaign.

By advertisement elsewhere Mr Walter Grey notifies the burgesses of Wanganui that he will address a public meeting at Liverpool Street Schoolroom to-morrow g'riday), at 8 P.m. sharp. Mr J. T. ogan, M.P., will preside.
