J. H. NIXON AND CO.S WANGANUI STOCK REPORT.

Messrs J. H. Nixon and Co. report as follows;— At our Wanganui sale, held on the 21st inst., we submitted a yarding of 1(580 sheep and 220 head of cattle. The sheep consisted chiefly of, aged ewes, and wove hard to quit. Two-tooth wpthcrs were keenly competed for, and realised good values. The lambs advertised i'ailci to come forward. Cattle were yarded iv excess of advertised numbers, and met with a ready sale, the whole yarding, with the exception of one small pen, finding purchasers. Wethers again sold readily, and dairy cows also brought good values. We quote as follows: — Sheep. — Fat ewes 8s 3d, forward empty ewes 6s 9d to 7s, 2-tooth wethers 9s 4d to 9s 6d, 6-tooth and 4-year ewes in lamb 8s 6d, 4 and o-year ewes ss, 5s 3d, to 5s 6d, culls 2s 6d.

Cattle. — Fat cows £& Is, 3-year steers £X 17s 6d. store cows £2 3s to £2 Bs, inferior ditto 32s 6d to 355, 18-month to 2year steers £2 7s, £2 Bs, to £2 10s, 12, to 10-month steers 32s to £2, mixed weaners His fid to 20s 6d, inferior 8s 6d to 12s 6d, dairy cows (good J>6 2s to £6 11s, others from £3 up to £4> 17s 6d, bulls £2 to £2 14*8.
