Referring T to Church.- work during the past year, the Vicar said he had been fortunate with, the lay workers, who had been enthusiastic and anxious to work. He also paid a tribute to the various Church guilds, etc. He referred to the extension of the work of the church at WanSfanui East, and at Castlecliff, at both of which places services were bow being held regularly. A section of land had been purchased at Wanganui East in a most central position, and a church room .had been erected thereon, and was opened last Sunday. The church already had a section at Castlecliff, and a sum. of .money .was. now in. hand towards tqje fund for the, Vrection of a church-rpom. The Sunday schools at both these places Avere in a healthy condition. During the year the Church of St. Agnes, Tayforth, had been built, and had been consecrated by the- Bishop of Christchurch. The Sunday school at St. Agnes' was being ably carried on by the bdys or the .Collegiate school. Speaking of the Christ Church c.hib, the Vicar said that the young men might be doing very much worse than being at the club, thought he knew that some were opposed to this iristitutibn. The club was a means of providing amusement without very great temptation, and he would like to see more interest taken in the institution by some of the leading members of the church. During the year they had been able to divide the parish up into sections, and a great deal had been done to see that the people were in touch with the church. He was .thankful for the support of, the ladies in mis matter. Dealing with the question of the. present church site, the Vicar said iie' had been disappointed with the' result of the appeal to the Church ' Property Trustees on the matter. A scheme providing for the letting of half the site and the erection of new churches at Wanganui and St. John's had been proposed and submitted to the trustees, who in reply had stated that they could not alter the purpose for which the present site was dedicated, and consequently the pan&h .could not deal with it. The next thing would be to approach the Synod on the matter, and if unsuccessful to approach the General Synrdd, Which only met once in three years. Failing that there was no other resource, except perhaps an Act of Parliament. The Vicar wished the meeting to understand that he was not going to allow the vestry to let the matter or dealing with the site rest. BALANCE-SHEET. — The balancesheet, which w"as a' satisfactory one, was adopted on the motion of Mr S. Prowsc, seconded by Mr. D. Meldrum. CHURCHWARDENS. — The Vicar nominated Mr. A. J.
