The Napier Telograph states that Captain Gibbons, licensee of the Crown Hotel. Port Alnuiri, and a brother of the late Mr Frank Gibbons, 16 lying critically ill and is not expected to recover. Mies Elsie Ma-ssey, elder daughter of Mr W. F. Massey, M.P., .Leader of the Opposition, was married on^Thursday last at the Preebyterian Church, Mangere, to Mr G. Lawrence Taylor, dentist, of Auckland.
The Hon. A. W. Hogg, Minister for Roadrf and Bridges, is about to make another tour in the backblocke. He proceeded to Pongaroa from Pahiatua yesterday, going carefully over as many of the roads in Pongaroa and Akitio counties as time permitled, with the intention of seeing what can best be done to overcome the difficulties caused by lack of metal. On Wed'.le.sday, Mv Hogg went to Weber, and thence to Dannevirke. He will then take train by the Main Trunk to To Awainutu, and go by coach to Pirongia and Kawhia. Turning back inland, he will visit Otorohanga, Te Kuiti, Aria, and Mokau Heads, and will go by sea to Waitara, and return to Wellington by train. He expeebs to be away from Wellington about a. fortnight. Later on the Minister will 'visit tho North Auckland district, and return by the Thames and Tauranga.
