ORANGE BLOSSOMS.
A m-etty -wedding was solemnised at St. John's (Preebyterian) Church on Wednesday afternoon (says the Hawera Star). th 6 contracting parties being Mr W. G. Sperring. of Wanganui, and Miss Agnes Annie McNiven, eldest daughter of Mr and M.rs McNiven, of Hawera. The iSinrch -was very nicely decorated with white flowers by several friends of the bride. Tli|. Eev. Shore conducted the ceremony, •fiphff briide wore ' a dress of ivory chene %nk\ x with panel front to skirt and court • train ; the bodice was trimmed with silkl^fee. true lovers' knots, and relieved with silver tassels. She also carried, a beautiful shower bouquet aud- wore the usual .bridal veil. The bride av as* given away' by; her father, and attended by throe bridesmaids. Mies Ivy McNiven was attired in a very; pretty dress of white Japanese silk, trimmed with silk- insertion, and carried^ a ehower bouquet of heliotrope flowers,- Th&''J other bridesmaids, Mies Bachella&oodSon and Elsie- Harman, looked verfHm&agjminfr in oream sil.k- frocks ,and creamjpflpttg^aitf!' Miss Young played the JWeddinjsr March as the newly-married couple left the church. The subsequent breakfast was held at the Forresters' Hall, where a large assembly were met and complimentary toaats were proposed. The mimerous presents were very much admired. The bride's travelling costume was a dark green, tailor-made, relieved with croam collar anfl cuffs, with picture hat to match. Mr- and Mrs Sper--riner left by the afternoon train for ChristehuTclr, where the honeymoon is to be spent. An 'evening' was given to rel<»brate the occasion by the parents of' tho bride, which was attended by over 150 guests.
